Fine Art Photography- Darkrooms

Image
Some of the bespoke furniture has arrive in the black and white darkrooms. In the first picture you can see the enlarger bays shuffling around waiting to be located in one of the two labs. (made by our very own Steve Higgins) The image below is of the processing sink that was designed by our own technical staff and made by Richard of Hull. I thing of beauty.

Printmaking workshops on the 4th floor

Image
The printmaking workshop on the 4th floor is really starting to shape up. In this picture you can see some of the overhead heating panels being installed. This is going to be a really lovely, bright and airy space for etching, litho and silk screen. In the second picture you can see some equipment that has arrive for etching. Printmaking workshop

Progress being made on the ground floor

Image
Things are starting to take shape on the ground floor with the new window being installed in what will be the Sculpture and Environmental Art studios and equipment being installed in the workshops.  This is a view of some of the extraction kit being installed in the metal workshop area. New windows in the 3rd year SEA studios, quite a contrast to the old frosted glazing. The window installation should be complete in the studio in the next couple of days.

Welcome to The Stow Blog

Image
Welcome to the Stow blog, where you will find regular updates on the progress of the Stow building. We made an Announcement earlier this month to let you know that everything is progressing well and the project is on target. We confirm once again that we are actively planning for the 2018/19 degree show to take place in the building and are very excited about this being our launch event to open the School of Fine Art’s new home to the public.  We will now be able to give more regular updates to keep you all informed of progress. Where we can, we will issue photographs of the progress in the building and we hope that this will help to keep up the excitement and enthusiasm that we all share for this new, exciting venture.
